If your plans change, you can amend your GWR Rewards complimentary ticket. You can only do this once and you will need to contact us before your booked journey.
If your ticket is unused because of service disruption, we will check your booked journey and give you a new code so you can re-book.

Your promotional code can only be used:
- to travel on GWR services, and
- on Advance Tickets. Other ticket types such as Anytime, Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets are excluded from this offer.
The outward and return tickets must be booked as part of the same booking. The promotional code can only be used once.
If your code is unused and the booking criteria are met, it may be worth trying to use a different browser or device.
If you still can’t redeem your promo code, please let us know the details of the journey you are looking to book, and send us any screenshots that may be helpful, so we can investigate the problem.
Complimentary tickets given as rewards do not qualify for Delay Repay compensation. They have no cash value.
Members earn points when they buy qualifying GWR tickets on the GWR website or app. Points are awarded based on the total spend in a single day (for valid ticket purchases) or over a week (for valid PAYG journeys):
- 10 points for spending between £30 and £69.99
- 20 points for spending £70 or more
A maximum of 20 points can be earned per day for ticket purchases, and a maximum of 20 points can be earned per week for PAYG journeys.
Points can be earned on Advance, Anytime, Off-Peak, and Super Off-Peak tickets booked directly through GWR.com, the GWR app, or via a member’s GWR PAYG account. Travel must be between two stations served by GWR on services operated by GWR.
Season tickets, Flexi tickets, and tickets bought from third-party retailers do not qualify.
- Points will show the day after your travel date, not immediately after your booking.
- Points will only be awarded for qualifying journeys.
- The cost of the ticket must be over the spend threshold.
If your points are not showing, please let us know by using the form below. We will need your booking reference and a screenshot of the booking that you believe you should have accrued points on.
You will receive either unique promotional codes or barcodes via email. How you redeem them will depend on the reward type and when it was issued. Please check our FAQs here.
Please upload a screenshot of the barcode you were trying to use and remember to include your GWR Rewards membership number. If possible, please let us know when and where you were attempting to use your barcode, and if you were advised by the onboard host what may be the issue.
You will be emailed your rewards.
Log into your account on GWR.com, go to the ‘My Account’ section, and click on ‘GWR Rewards’ to view your points balance. Later this year, you will also be able to access your statement on the GWR app.
Your points will be added the day after your booked journey. If you booked an open return ticket, your points will be added the day after the last date the return portion is valid on.
No, rewards are valid only on services operated by GWR.
Create an account on GWR.com and ensure you have opted in to receiving marketing communications, including product updates and/or offers. We will send you an invite the following working day.
- All members start at Bronze.
- Members move up to Silver after earning 50 points.
- Members move up to Gold after earning 120 points.
Once a member earns enough points to qualify for the next GWR Rewards tier level, they are automatically upgraded.
No, rewards are non-transferable and must be used by the member.
